  • In 2013, North Dakota is highest in honey production with 33 million pounds of honey.
  • Americans consume about 1.3 pounds of honey.

Americans consumer a great deal of honey per person per year. 1.3 pounds of honey is a great deal of honey, likely more than two containers of standard honey that is kept in those bear jars at the supermarket. And, of course, honey is sweet, thereby the possible addiction. It has a certain amount of calories per spoonful.

Because honey is sweet, people can become addicted to it. Sugar is one of the largest addictions in the United States today, behind all the substance addictions and the process addictions. Excess sugar influences the beginning of diabetes and makes diabetes type II all the more difficult to control.

This isn’t to say that honey is bad. Honey has its place, as do burgers and other types of substances that when consumed will cause long term damage to health. Honey needs to be consumed in moderation, which some people seem to understand and others might not. This is an important part of the process in getting healthy.

There are many ways to get healthy without cutting out honey or having the occasional burger. Knowing and understanding portion control as well the concept that food is fuel can help out a great deal in terms of maintaining a healthy weight and being able to appreciate the human body.

It seems that in recent times that people have less interest in appreciating the human body. People have become large in the first world, obese even. Their weight is far beyond the recommended level for what their height is. This is a difficult thing for many Americans. Obesity related illnesses cost people millions of lives each year.

The largest obesity related illness that causes death is heart disease. Heart disease is at least extremely correlated with eating red meat and excessive amounts of it. Red meat causes the clogging of veins in the body, otherwise known as cholesterol, and also for fatty tissue to build up around the heart.

Another obesity related illness is called diabetes. Diabetes involves the inability for insulin to move the sugar (Carbohydrates) around to different cells in the body. This is often likely the result of an excess of blood sugar, from eating too many carbohydrates or ingesting a great deal of sugar from refined sources, such as donuts.

Other obesity related illnesses and conditions include hypertension, which is high blood pressure, high cholesterol, which involves the fatty build up in the blood stream, organ issues as a result of eating too many fatty foods, and more. There are other health illnesses as well that affect different parts of the body due to fatty intake.

There are some terms associated with this that are important. They are bee pollen supplements, bee pollen weight loss, beekeeper gifts, beekeeper hat, beekeeping basics, beekeeping equipment, beekeeping for beginners, beekeeping gloves, beekeeping hives, beekeeping kit, beekeeping tools, beeswax ornaments, beeswax pastilles, beeswax pellets.

Organic honey is likely healthier than regular honey. Organic simply means that the food has not been sprayed by pesticides and herbicides. Organic honey is honey without chemicals, which is helpful. Organic honey may taste better or may make the body feel better. Organic honey is likely more costly but it could be worth it.

There are many points to be made about honey and about sweeteners. While they can be addictive and cause a great deal of problems, they are fine in moderation and can be helpful in some cases.
